Death, intrigue, scandal part of the times / Delaplane, Kristin [399] [ECHOS-1998-399]
In the first part of 1871, three deaths were reported out of Vacaville. From the start of the year, things took a bad turn for Joseph Hewitt of Pleasants Valley. His barn, along 20 tons of hay and four valuable horses, were all destroyed in a fire.
