In 1868 Juan Felipe Pena's granddaughter, Maria Delores Pena, married John Patton. John's father, Albert Lyon, first arrived in the Vacaville area in 1847 and settled north of the Pena Adobe. Lyon Road is named after the Lyon family. His son, John Patton, married Maria Delores Pena on June 2, 1868, and they had a son, John Edward Lyon, who married Josephine Hanna Murray [...]

In the first installment of the history of the Suisun Wednesday Club we saw it evolve from a meeting of 16 civic-minded ladies who in 1911 wanted to do something positive for their community to the building in 1926 of a permanent clubhouse on Sacramento Street and Washington Avenue.

Every day thousands of travelers and strung-out commuters zoom past a road sign on Highway 12 that points to Denverton Road not far from the Western Railroad Museum. Should you choose to leave Highway 12 here, a fading and dusty street sign on this quiet road greets you declaring this to be the "Rio Vista-Denverton Road." An old ranch, a couple of newer structures and a bridge over a swampy waterway are all that occupy the quiet lane.
