In fact, "native sons" are California's minority group in this day of expanding population - with 20,000 new residents crossing our state boundaries every month. Yet, it is surprising how many of our Vallejo and Solano County residents are direct descendants of the hardy pioneers who came to California - by overland trial or via the Isthmus of Panama, in 1849 or earlier.

Wichels, Ernest
[777]
[WICHELS-1963-777]
Christmas is the same over the years--the family reunions, the joy of the children, and the turkey on the table--but the manner of reporting it has changed. We went back into the old copies of the Vallejo Chronicle 70 to 90 years ago, and bring you the life of the city in those holidays.
