Roy Mason continues ranching tradition with cattle, grapes / Delaplane, Kristin [424] [ECHOS-1999-424]
Roy Mason and his wife, Betty, live on a ranch in Green Valley, where he runs cattle and grows grapes. On the same property, his daughter and her family now occupy the house where his grandmother lived. The family, which traces its Solano County heritage to the mid-1800s, also owns and operates a vineyard in neighboring Suisun Valley.

Wolfskill family set tone for Solano's future / Delaplane, Kristin [245] [ECHOS-1995-245]
Information for this article came from the Vacaville Heritage Council and the Vacaville Museum. Wolfskill descendants can trace their story back to the 1740s Prussia and Frederick the Great's ongoing wars. Rather than fight in wars where the loss of life was incredibly high, in 1742, Joseph Wolfskeil moved to the wilderness of Pennsylvania to take his chances.

Bridges built over troubling waters in town / Delaplane, Kristin [369] [ECHOS-1998-369]
Dingley's Mill in Green Valley changed hands and the new owners had plans to enlarge the establishment and employ steam as the power source. George Dingley was forced to abandon his mill through a foreclosure eviction notice. When he originally purchased the land, the seller failed to disclose the mortgage liability.
