CHRONOLOGY OF SOME DISASTERS IN SOLANO COUNTY HISTORY

Abstract: 1837 - Smallpox epidemic. Known as the Miramonte epidemic, infected the Patwins of the area. It raged for two years. 1846 - Severe winter weather conditions meant near starvation for Rio Vista settlers. 1852 - California legislature met in Vallejo but because of primitive and muddy conditions moved to Sacramento the next week, came back the next year for a short while.
