West Texas Site Demolition Project - County of Solano 2001
ABSTRACT: The large county-owned property at 2100 West Texas Street in Fairfield contains two entities with separate histories - the Solano County Hospital and the Solano County Detention Home - each of which is over 50 years of age. These were researched and evaluated for potential significance as historic properties in relation to the criteria of the California Register of Historic Resources (CRHR). One of these, the Solano County Detention Home, does not meet the criteria of eligibility of the CRHR and it is not a significant historic property. The other property, the Solano County Hospital, meets criteria 1 and 3 of the CRHR as a district with six contributing structures and non-contributing features that include two structures and the landscaping. It is significant at the local level in the context of Solano County.
