School, church, musical activities abound

Delaplane, Kristin

May 11, 1997

Abstract: One hundred years ago, the schools in the Dixon area were running smoothly. Miss Mary Kirby was the teacher at the Silveyville school. Pitts School was where Miss Blanche Holly taught, and Miss Mercy Tucke headed up Currey School. A number of activities were taking place at the high school. Books from the Parmalee library, which had been in the Tribune office for years, were taken over to the high school library.
