Meet Cleo Gordon Elementary school's namesake

Dingler, Nancy

Dec 22, 2000

Abstract: Have you ever wondered how local places, like streets and schools get their names? For example, it is obvious that Fairfield High is named after the town, but did you know that Armijo High was named after the family that had the large Spanish land grant it sits on? Historically, people want to honor prominent, successful people by naming places for them.
